Congrats to Mark Webber

Well its been awhile since an Aussie has been up there but I think Mark had it coming. After a drive through penalty he still made it.. first F1 victory. Well done mate.

German Gran Prix, Nürburgring
1.Mark Webber (Red Bull) 1:36:43.310
2.Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) +9.2 secs
3.Felipe Massa (Ferrari) +15.9 secs

Congratulations Wark Webber. Dedication, persistence, tenacity plus a bucket load of skill is Mark Webber.

Long overdue and well deserved.

Footnote: Why the drive through??? I seem to remember Barichello smacking into Mark in the wet a few races back in an overly agressive and stupid move ....no drive through then.

Well there you go, Webber is the first Aussie since Alan Jones at the 1981 Las Vegas Grand Prix to walk away with a win. That is a while back now!

Mallee Boy, Webber moved in coming up to a turn I think and it would seem that Barrichello was too stubborn to move out of the way. Side of Webber's car gave Barrichello's wheel a hard knock.

YES! GO WEBBER! been waiting a long time for this one - hopefully he can kick on and get some more!

did it comfortably in the end, even with the drive-through

felt really sorry for Sutil too, home race, was up for big points in the car generally considered to be the slowest, until his hit with Kimi

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the race but it is most deserved by Webber. He has always been a class act.
More than I can say for Barrichello after going off on his team after the race yesterday!
Go Button!

It was a pretty blatantly dangerous move (though accidental, according to Mark), and there were no inclement conditions to mitigate the circumstances. It was well before any corner—he apparently just lost Rubens' car and just turned straight into the side of it going down the middle of the straight. Luckily it didn't do any damage, but I feel they were in the right to penalize it.

But yeah, congrats to Mark. Been a long time coming.

Congrats to Webber, but I'm more of a Brawn guy, only because it's the better feel-good story between them and Red Bull.
