Nikon's 1998 vintage "full frame" DSLR

Just came across this one today, interesting design to say the least.

That looks painful to hold in extended shooting situations. Of course, I can only guess, but that camera looks awfully unbalanced.

that is an interesting bit of information. I wonder if nikon is still working on this bit of technology? as for the camera.... man what is nikon thinking with its body designs? I know electronics have shrunk considerably since the late 90's, but nikon bodies haven't! id rather carry my 6x7 than lug that unbalanced and oddly shaped monstrosity around all day.
