Olympus E-P2 coming by Christmas?

With a viewfinder?

Magazine hints at Olympus E-P2 before year's end, Leica M9 for September

(Not to mention the Leica M9...)

I always thought the new Pen was stupid without a viewfinder.

Yeah, if it has one I might be very interested as a second system.

In some interview Olympus execs said there would be other cameras in the same series, both above and below E-P1. So I assume this one with the optical VF is above E-P1. Although if that name is correct, what would be left for the model below? E-P0?

Going on their other camera naming schemes, something like E-P10 or E-P150, I guess.

Yeah. Even if it's a zooming VF with a range of, oh, about 17-30mm.

Or, you know, the ol' auto-select brighlines.

A viewfinder, and maybe add flash as well version of the new Oly bodies would be nice.

I can't justify to myself the EP-1 with that rather pitiful back screen combined with no viewfinder, AND no flash.

Yeah. It gets to the point where you're saying, hey, why don't I just buy a DSLR?

Should be a spiritual successor to the Pen-F or the old interchangeable rangefinders, not just a consumer P&S with interchangeable lenses.

Oh, that's ridiculous, seamuis. Leicaphiles don't take out second mortgages. That's an utterly stupid thing to say.

They sell their kids.

You can always crank out another kid, but if you lose the house, you're gonna lose that built in safe and alarm system you keep your vintage MOOLYs and "gonna be worth, like, forty grand in ten years' time" Noctiluxes, plus those locks of Erwin Putz's hair.

Active AF probably wouldn't hurt, either. Might ruin the lines of the camera, but I have no idea what it's gonna look like.

Still, two little IR LEDs wouldn't go astray.

I really hope the viewfinder is a proper rangefinder style.
