Sad news for any prog rockers out there. One of the best bass players ever passed away this past Saturday from leukemia. Chris Squire was 67. He and Jon Anderson formed Yes in 1968 and I saw them on their "The Yes Album" tour the following year. Squire was simply an amazing musician and he actually helped write many of the band's more popular works. To see him live was to respect his prowess on his Rickenbacker. From teasing out death-defying harmonics to blowing speakers up with big boomers, he did it all. RIP, Chris.

+1.

I saw them perform in Melbourne years ago and at one stage he got out a double-necked bass to play.

Jeffrey Thompson Psycho-Sensory Integration #4

It's a brainwave and music CD geared towards healing, supposedly. I've had it for a while but haven't used it as yet. His CD's are usually very good though and given I was sick all week I figured I could use a little sound healing about now. Jeffrey Thompson is also responsible for the Brainwave Mind Voyages, Brainwave Symphony etc. He's a veteran in the field of brainwave entrainment, very well regarded I think. He's been doing this kind of thing since the 80's, combining music, sounds and brainwaves.

Big Wreck - Off and Running

Thanks for your posts... well most of you... good stuff...
I'm transferring a lot by saying this but if I had gone the path of music my stuff would have sounded like this.

I just love these guys...
small and large parts of rock melody poetry
Ian Thornely and Big Wreck
Off and Running

if you like that one try Break

I'm buying tickets to their show in Frankfurt in October

Last night we saw Shawn Colvin with just a few hundred people at a local venue. She still sounds great!

That sounds like a great scenario! I've always liked her work.

I've been reliving the 70s, listening to Tame Impala's new album, Currents. Catchy hooks and vintage synths, the album is addicting

Metric - Poster of a Girl. I love the mood they build in their songs... can't beat the first album, but they are always great.

A band you've probably never heard of playing at a bar you've probably never heard of. Both are exceptionally fun experiences!
