The quiet of a morning after the first major snow is one of my favorites.
I live in Canada .. the western prairies. After a major snow storm of which we get many...usually what we hear is 'metal'...but that of our Snowblower's Tecumseh engine, rattling and revving.
But you're quite right about the quiet experienced after a snow storm or during a snowfall during the night. I used to go snowshoeing through a forest during the late evening. It was beautiful, fresh, pristine snow, quiet...you'd see deer, rabbits, etc..Great experience.
