Was is *made* for the game or did they just get to use it? I don't know all the songs from the most recent/coming? album. They were a local* band when I was in my teens.

*In that part of the world 300km might be considered local...

They actually teamed up with them:
Refused is the Sound and Voice of Cyberpunk 2077's Samurai

Which is awesome, Refused's hardcore punk fits very nicely with the cyberpunk atmosphere.

Like I said they are very much of my generation and locality. That scene is however not one I'd relate to cyberpunk! I read the Gibson books in the mid nineties but can't remember many of my peers being into it except for some very interesting but nerdy classmates.

The one below still gives me the goosebumps, even if I prefer "The shape of punk to come" album it doesn't have the same nostalgic effect.

I saw them in concert 4 years ago and it was awesome, on New Noise we basically had this going (I'm almost directly below Dennis in the thumbnail's picture, hah)

While it's true that the hardcore punk scene is not something too related to cyberpunk (I'd say synthwave fits even better, more on that later) I think the music's tone is very suitable to the atmosphere of the novels, in particular the less hacker-y ones. Neuromancer requires synthwave, though.
