I was a little slow to come around with them but when The Queen is Dead came out I bought the record and was instantly converted.

I had the same reaction, until I heard some of the B-sides to those omnipresent Morrissey-emphasized radio-friendly heavy rotation droners. The B-sides or deeper cuts on the albums showed how good a band the Smiths were, like this song:

Esperanza Spalding never makes the same album twice, always changing, but it is still her sound.

That's Franken-steen. I grew up in New Jersey, where he was of course a legend. His later output does not draw me, but the first 4-5 albums really are packed with great music and lyrics, his band is tight! This song is probably one of my favorites.

This player has so much talent and and a great smile. I hope the next time I visit Poland she'll be performing nearby.

No worries! Your fingers could not be any fatter than mine, I live by spell-check and auto-correct.

Time to get up and get to it, a little travelling music, maestro!

I was introduced to that album as a 13 year old, and it has been on my mind ever since.

Another song which I heard long ago as a teenager and has never left my mind, fitting for Easter.
