I think Passenger has been my favourite Artist to listen to over the last 5 years or so. Give him a listen underrated as far as I'm concerned.
Whispers II a beautifully packaged album (as are all his albums) with copious linear notes. A proper album listening experience

De La Soul - A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays - YouTube
Ah, memories of watching Yo! MTV Raps on Saturday mornings at my house. My place was de meeting point on these mornings between the nights out on Friday and Saturday. Lots of good memories from that time but also a few tears because most of the friends from that time didn't make it out of that poor neighbourhood the way i did.

Thanks Rob, that reminded me of an old favourite rendition, by Steeleye Span. Maddy Prior's gorgeous descant gives such light and colour to the piece. Here they are in a concert 35 years on from when they first recorded it:–

Sounds very bittersweet.

I was never much into hip-hop, but looking back I appreciate the '90's style - funk and jazz inflected - and when it was mostly fun party music, by the people and for the people. It's much different now.
