Thanks for the citation or RVW's Sacred Choral Music. I've ordered it just now.
And don't forget RVW's Variations on Dives and Lazarus.... And for a brief wonder, his Variations on Greensleeves. RVW's trumps all other versions of Greensleeves.

That may not be the best recording, though! I just grabbed it quick off you tube. My recording had a cathedral on the sleeve....I thought Constable's Salisbury cathedral but I can't find it...

RVW getting some well deserved love! Have to scan through some of my other English music of the last century....

I'm a big fan of Robin Trower and I have just got this on CD. I think this is awesome.

Well, went to the Khruangbin concert last night at DC's Anthem venue with my daughter. Almost left early---not because of the music but because of the completely obnoxious crowd. Music though started off good---a bit noodling-ish---but got really terrific as the set went on. Good group to watch, very mod, and a surprisingly good lightshow.

Too bad about the crowd of rude-sters shoving and being tools, weaving their way through the crowd with their drinks w/o regard to personal space (yeah, it's a concert, but this was beyond the pale---my nearly 30yo youngest said it's why she isn't going to as many concerts anymore...increasingly "shove-y").

But one thing that was interesting about the set was that it was about 80-90% instrumental, with only several songs sung. A bit different than their earlier stuff. The guy is really a terrific guitarist.

One of my favorite local venues has open floor in front of the stage, but balcony seating above, so I often sit there, I want to see the show, not someone's cellphone screen. between me and the stage.

Love a grumbling bass intro.
