Stumbled across this 40 year old novelty. I have mixzed feelings about Frank Zappa, but he always had a talented and tight band.

Very. I used to play a few of their songs very loudly, I am sure the neighbors appreciated it.
The crazy thing is, some of the songs they played were actually covers of more obscure rockabilly artists.

Yes, I was surprised by that, too. Also that the lead singer "Lux Interior" was married to the guitarist "Poison Ivy" for 37 years!!

One thing I appreciate about YouTube is that I can get a lot of content for older bands whenever I like. Back in the day , one had to have cable and stay up until the wee hours to see a Cramps video, and the like. Pop culture is ephemeral, and nostalgia chasing after wind, but it nice to be able to tap into on occasion.

Yeah, my parents did not get cable until after I left home to join the Navy in 1991! Now my kids have more access to music exposure than I ever did!! It is still fun to see them “discover” a new old band and find that we can relate with the music!!

I finally had a chance to watch the video with your post!! I like the version by The Cramps better, but I always like covers that go farther than just re-singing a song, but where the artist really puts their own spin on it. Joe Cocker comes to mind with some of his songs, though I wasn’t a big fan of Van Halen’s covers!

A little something to hit the spot

NRBQ were legendary road dogs, I"m only sorry I never got to see them live. A band where the three front men all sang and played great bar band tunes, I am only sorry I never saw them live.

A little guitar music
