So our friend is out, I'm in (and the guitar is already shutdown anyway):

And to finish it off (back to the piano? just pushing buttons, remember?):

By the way, Manel,
this is the link to the same Shostakovich's Symphony #5 but performed by the orchestra where I worked 26 years. You can even see me over there if you knew me.-

Nice one, Not a huge fan of Olympia, but Bryan is still as suave as ever
Wish they'd finish that rumoured Roxy album
Olympia was supposed to be the next Roxy album, but for whatever reason, it became just another Ferry. Maybe the rest of the band wasn't up for all those schmoozy ballads he loves to put on his solos. Olympia is good, but perhaps one too many droll songs.

the current Roxy tour is getting some ok reviews, but after the last time with tickets in the $80 range i think I've seen them enough (saw them at their best [or close to it] in the 70's twice -unfortunately post eno but i was just too young to know them at that point)

the solo ferry stuff is good for his voice, but not really my favourite work

on that note my favourite song (and the one I told my wife to play at my funeral when that day comes)

WOW, that's something! Congratulations Constantine! and thank you very much for the stuff you posted...

P.S. I believe under "Shostakovsky" you meant Shostakovich?
Yes. Sorry, I'm terrible with those Slavic words, ending vitz, vich, sky, always messing with the correct spelling. I should have check-it first...

My father was very fond of Russian composers like Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and pretty much everything from Russia, exception for Solzhenitsyn, if you know what I mean... We used to have quite long discussions about politics and so on. I guess that's why I love everything from Russia too, particularly music and literature...

Hoping to hearing from you again Constantine.

Best regards.

Hey Eddie, you have to like this one. That's from a gig in Dublin, so the odds you have been in the audience are quite narrow, but who knows... What do you say? (BTW, probably the best version ever of the song)

not much chance of me having been in the audience, been a big bowie fan for almost everything (some of the early 80's threw me off a bit way to pop)
nice performance

Anyone like Chris Rea?
Takes a couple of minutes to get going (that's "Part 1") - but then again, you don't want to travel TOO fast on the road to hell.....

Hey, wait a minute Eddie - We're further north than you are, I think.
I'm heading up to our cabin - about as far north in Wisconsin as you can get - this weekend. Then I'll REALLY be "up north" (by U.S. terms anyway). Hope to get some shots of that big ol' partially-frozen lake to post next week.

Tim
