Most singers butcher songs made famous by others.....this guy didn't!

In celebration of our 47th anniversary, here is the song that played when Mrs Rupert turned on the radio in my car on our first date.....she did thrill me, but I was already out of my mind! Too bad she discovered it too late!

Still my "Lipstick Lady" after all these years!

Regards!

RT is my hero. Got to see him in Iowa City with his trio last summer. It was outstanding. Here's a video my wife took with the Pentax Q:

I've also recently discovered a terrific band from Canterbury, England called Syd Arthur. It's an intriguing stylistic mix of Pink Floyd, Yes, English folk, jazz, and psychedelia. Here's one of their tracks:

I have all their stuff now, and there's not a dud in the bunch. You can't say that about many artists.

RT interviewed by Leonard Lopate:

I'd love to catch Richard on tour with the trio.
I haven't seen him play electric in 20+ years.

Since you asked...

If you make it to 1:40 you've got to stay until 3:06. Long time MBM fan, and Jack Dangers is involved with this one.

I tried to include this one when I originally posted but somehow goofed. Here it is:

Back in the day I tended bar to help with my college expenses. A stewardess who was one of my favorite people at the time, came in one day with a cassette which she asked me to throw in the stereo. Side "A" was the Henry Paul Band . Side "B" was these guys. Hadn't thought about either band or the stewardess in many years but recently shot an Outlaws show and got to spend a little time with Henry.

Wouldn't be right not giving Henry his due

And no Southern Rock post would be complete without these.
