I've told my wife I don't want to be cremated. She can keep me in a large clear glass vat of formaldehyde in the corner of the Living Room. Softly backlit like a sort of macabre lava lamp.

Strangely, she is not in favour of this idea. I can't figure why.

I actually sort of know the vicar, though I haven't seen him in many years - he used to be a very prolific (and, to be honest, not very good) science fiction author in the fifties and sixties, and I've met him at a few SF conventions in the seventies and eighties. He also did a TV series about mysterious phenomena etc. a few years back.

I'm listening to the end of Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 1-5). Next up is Have a Cigar or Wish You Were Here. Then maybe some Animal by Leppard. One of the few Def Leppard songs I like. Yes, I like classic rock/rock 'n' roll.
