Yesterday I was listening to a lot of reggae including this song by the great Gregory Issacs. He wrote this classic song about his crack addiction. Great bass line too.

I played his 2nd Symphony once... very difficult, to use an euphemism...

Yes i know it can be difficult to swallow, mostly because u heard it first time and i imagine that u find it really blunt.

Now let me show you something more relaxing:

It's not that... it's technically difficult without real reason.
Sostakovic or Stravinskij are written much better, even though they don't lack in the difficulty department either.

I like Rieu... he manages to make violin playing look effortless and easy.
I had never heard of this Gheorghe Zamfir before, but I'm liking what I hear as well

Hahaha!
They are talented musicians, even though I'm not particularly fond of their over-the-top style.
They can often be seen at concerts & in videos (here as well) with half bow hair torn off... it's painful to watch!

I think this whole contamination thing started way back in the '90s with Apocalyptica, then the Bond quartet made it glamorous.
Then came the YouTube stars, like ThePianoGuys and 2Cellos.
Most are top-notch classical musicians as well... I mean, you can take away all the special effects, the costumes, the distortion and they can still play better than many classical players, it's not all smokescreen

I loved Apocalyptica!
But don't forget Walter Murphy's A Fifth of Beethoven! I think that may have started all this.
I loved this when I was like 7 years old.
