King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, AKA "Those crazy Aussies" decided that this time they wanted to make an 80s thrash metal album.

After publishing 5 albums of different genres in a single year, I go into new releases truly wondering what they're gonna sound like.

I did see them in maybe 2015 here in their hometown of Melbourne … and they looked like kids!

Fearless experimenters, though, like another Australian act, Tame Impala. Hit and miss, obviously, but that's part of the charm. You can't possibly release five albums in one year (2017) and have everything liked.

I've been listening to a lot of Irish folk music lately. It's peppy and jaunty so it keeps me alert on my motorcycle, but doesn't encourage such behavior as hard rock does. And since it's about the history of Ireland, it's sufficiently sad and depressing for someone who came up on the 90s Seattle sound.
