There are a number of youtube videos showing people having a first reaction to Pink Floyd, most of them seem to be persons of colour who are normally associated with completely different genres of music. Worth a watch, although it can be a little difficult to follow the podcast for the first couple of minutes the look on their faces as something like "Comfortably numb" is played is worth the time.

And you get the great music in the background!
Hi Liney

I'll have to have a look...thanks

Dave

Anna Calvi with David Byrne, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. The video is beautifully shot too.

Apparently the music is used in the TV Series "Peaky Blinders" but I've never watched.

Right now I am listening to an Aussie Trio Lover Seeker Keeper. 1/2 an hour ago it was Classical Guitar played by Slava Grigoryan and before that Beth Gibbons of Portishead fame.

PF is such a great, international forum. Decades ago, one had to stay up late listening to the "underground" radio shows, or watch the avant-garde video programs that bought inexpensive early morning airtime, and paw through the import-only section of record stores to find a lot of less well-known bands from other countries, now via YouTube and recommendations on forums like this, I can become aware of a lot of music I wouldn't otherwise know.

Another Aussie band that caught my attention years ago, a great late night song

Where I live, this you can hear playing in the background at any time during the day (or night TBH) in December. It's also played at Christmas parties while dancing, drinking and getting your face stuffed with deep fried corn flour and salted fresh cheese balls called "buñuelos" and corn starch jello with milk, raw cane sugar (panela), grated coconut and a touch of cinnamon called "natilla".

A great tune, much better without the unnecessary commentary.

After Thanksgiving my wife controls the stereo for a month so it's pretty much non-stop Christmas. We just listened to Chris Botti's and John Pizzarelli's Christmas albums … both were quite enjoyable for a lazy Sunday morning.

Love the Megadeth reaction. I actually like those guys commentary … Man, not to date myself, again -- saw Megadeth in a small NY club, I think it was the Palladium, shortly after the release of the first album -- they were still also playing a lot of the Metallica first album in the set -- Great show!
