I'm currently listening to songs from the Nutcracker as I'm currently watching a production of it.

A great tune, much better without the unnecessary commentary.

Megadeth - Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (Official Music Video) - YouTube

Agree, the best of the best, IMHO.
But the 2 dudes are HipHop people trying to learn how to Metal, and they did a pretty good job. Dave Mustaine gave them a shout-out on his twitter after that video. They are funny. They got another video trying out the Painkiller. That one was even funnier.

Tonight, I am listening to some cheesy pop-rock from my youth

Rick Springfield's 1983 album "Living in Oz" was a favourite with me and my friends in our teens, and there was a supposedly "live" video ("Living in Oz - Live '85) that accompanied it later. Looking at it now, I see it's a mix of live, very-much-staged and primitive special effects footage montaged into a rather unbelievable production Still, as teenagers we fell for it at the time, and it seemed really cool. And the music is still good, if rather clichéd.

"Souls" was one of my favourite tracks, especially on the video where it was extended, better produced and showcased more of Tim Pierce, the excellent bowler-hatted, "Droog"-like guitarist

Man, I miss the '80s

[for those frustrated by the lengthy and silly theatrical intro over-dubbed with screaming audience, the song starts properly around 0:45 ]

... and another from the same video... probably the best version of Jessie's Girl ever, IMHO (the audio's not so strong on this one, so needs turning up a bit!).

I have more than a sneaking suspicion that Rick's own guitar is more for show than anything else. I mean, he can play... but I really think it's just a prop to make him look cool here

OK you've worn me down Racer. Here's a few Seasonal songs I find just about bearable

(Mostly because Kirsty McColl can do no wrong in my eyes

(Not instantly a Xmas song but the lyrics obviously refer to the Nativity)

And lastly for the sheer cheesiness factor

I've had that one for over 25 years. Great tune for the holidays.

This is the third time for this one so far this holiday season. Must be popular or something.
