I wish I could find a video of Ellis playing with both of his sons, but I can only find this one with Wynton. I enjoy listening to Wynton Marsalis's show on Sirius XM. I'm not a huge jazz fan, it depends on the style but on Wynton's show he explains a bit of what is going on, and has made me appreciate jazz much more.

As an example of jazz I do not understand, the first 30 seconds or so of this song features the disjointed, arrhythmic, unstructured style of the kind of jazz I don't get, and do not care to hear. Fortunately, it all coalesces into a fantastic song, from a great album.

Ellis was educator , performer and father of a family of jazz musicians . Delfeayo ,I never hear until yesterday, is a fine jazz trombonist . Music is much needed .

Reminds me of this song

In the early 1970's, truckers and CB radios caught on in the pop culture for a little bit, the pinnacle was this song (I had the album CW McCall released based on this song.

As a suburban kid living in New Jersey, still in grade school, I was struck by the romanticized idea of truckers and the open road, and NYC actually had a country station on AM that I could listen to on my transistor radio. In between trucker and CB songs, I was exposed to all sorts of country, from the classics and legends...

...to the vanguard of the Outlaw country movement

OF course not, he's been paying trucker songs since he was part of Commander Cody's Lost Planet Airmen

But if you like Bill Kirchen, you'll probably like Danny Gatton

This is a newer truck driving song, and I think Parker Milsap is a great new artist for writing and singing it

I like the sound of silence.
My 82 year old neighbour died of the virus.
He was in hospital for treatment and was contaminated by a doctor who had caught the virus.
John died three day after he was sent home.

Please respect all measurements that are imposed on us to prevent the spread of this mean enemy.
The world will recover but will most likely not be the same as before.

In this time of "isolation" (we're being told - and we do - to stay home except for essential/urgent matters), I just put some blues backing tracks and hit the guitars with a few solos.

Once in a while, I hit YouTube, pick a tune and play along, so lately, I've reckoned with the past with a few good old tunes such as:
Electric Light Orchestra - Turn To Stone (no pun intended)
Electric Light Orchestra - How to play Don't bring me down (no pun intended)
The Traveling Wilburys - End Of The Line (no pun intended here)
The Traveling Wilburys - Handle With Care
Fun!
Then, yesterday, I found an old(er) sheet of music and played this along ...

Anyway folks, stay safe, wishing you the best!
Cheers!

I love the first minute of this song before it segways into the TV style theme.

Listening to PJ Harvey before turning to Butler and Bernstien
