An amazing man. On tour, in each city he would try to schedule a lesson with a local guitar teacher, he thought you could learn *something* in music and life out of every person you met. Ozzy has said in interviews that Rhoads disapproved of his copious drug use and mood swings, and was probably going to leave his band in the next year anyway and do a degree in classical music at a university. He was going to be entirely happy turning his back on the money and trappings.

Osbourne recruited Jake E Lee as his new guitarist - a fine muso in his own right.

RIP the immortal Cherry Wainer on the Hammond organ and husband Don Storer on drums.
In other videos you may note that her little dog was often seated on the bench next to her while she played.

There's a killer studio version by another group (British?) of this Mar-Keys 1961 hit - with female vocal.
It's in my CD collection somewhere...

I have a confession to make, I prefer Ozzy solo to anything he did with Black Sabbath, and I prefer Black Sabbath during the Ronnie James Dio years.
Back to Ozzy, his first two solo albums with Randy Rhoads were incredible, but also because Bob Daisley was playing bass along with Lee Kerslake on drums.
