I love the Motels! They hit it big here in Australia and then made up ground internationally, I think.

Another female-fronted band that made a huge impact here was Sandii and the Sunsetz. I have three of their CDs.

I do, met him through a friend who was doing graphic design for his Guitar Sponsor (Epiphone,) he played for fun with some other friends in the small back room of a pub, I think about 10 of us were invited. afterward, I have met up when he came through town with the new york dolls and with Glen Matlock (I have known Glen since 76 when I lived in London, usually go for drinks or dinner with him when he comes to town) . Wish I had met him back in the bowie days, I saw the tours he did but young kids like me weren't invited backstage in the 70s (unless they were cute and female.....) -- so more acquaintance than a friend...which in general is the way it is with touring people you get to know.

speaking of Matlock and Slick... with Slim Jim (saw the stray cats many times and partied with them in early days, then never saw any oth them except the odd Brian Setzer gig until this band rolled around

a year ago the very last live show I saw just before the lockdown was the lovely Ginger St James, from just down the road in Hamilton. Saw her in my favourite little dive basement venue that is also a local brewery , aside from the band, the bar staff and sound man there was 4 of us there (lockdown was already announced for the Monday following... ) . always a great show
