Yeah, huge issue. Australian singer songwriter Paul Kelly had to change the name of his band from The Coloured Girls to The Dots before taking his act to the United States.

What should be done with The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar"?

Or The Beatles' 'Run For Your Life', with its misogyny and threats of violence?

Lots of examples, too many to list!

We're all photographers, and I've also done boudoir. Social media doesn't permit us to show nipples of female subjects, etc, etc.

I just heard something the other day about Mick Jagger saying The Rolling Stones will no longer play "Brown Sugar" in concerts. And now the terrorists have won.
Here a little bit of my mental disorder. Last year my laptop dumped many of my music files from iTunes. Like, the programing could not find the path to the file folders and a large amount of the music I had ripped from discs to iTunes was not accessible. My remedy was to buy a new laptop and rebuild the library. Like some guys rebuild the car motors or remodel their kitchens, well I reorganize and rip music files from cds and hard drives and sort of stroke my collection. So also, as a result, I'm going through my vinyl records and compact discs and challenging myself to pick my favorite five albums from each year, beginning with the year I was born. I post this shit on Facebook and have brief discussions with friends of course. Anyway, I started the five favorite albums released in year XXXX several months ago and am currently bragging about the year 2000. My five favorite albums released in 2000. So I recall a few albums released in a particular year, and I will confirm the release date of some albums one way or another and narrow my list down to just five for a real challenge. I don't dare order the five releases, I just believe these five are better than the others. Then to make my end of the year summary on Spotify a little different this year, I go back and listen to those five albums plus five runner ups albums released in that given year. My pace is about three different years per week.
Which means today I listened to Mer De Noms-A Perfect Circle, Standing On The Shoulders of Giants-Oasis, Live At The Greek-Jimmy Page & The Black Crows, Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live-Pink Floyd, Live-Alice In Chains, and Warning-Green Day.

Retro yet fresh. That is, fresh for a song released almost 20 years ago. Good mix, sounds great through headphones along with coffee and volume.
Something in that video reminded me of this wake-up call song

My five favorite albums released in 2000.
The early 00's represent the last period of time I'd buy CD's indiscriminately, before I realized too many CD's had one or two killer songs and a lot of filler. I'd continue to buy CD's until I gave into becoming an iTunes user in 2009. I still buy CD's but only when I know I'm getting at least 80% first rate content, and often from the merch table at a concert, otherwise I use a lot of digital downloads.
Defining the early 00's as 2000-2003, from memory and a little help from Google, here are my Top 5 CD's which I actually purchased.

Rated R - Queens of the Stone Age
America's Volume Dealer - Corrosion of Conformity
Whoa, Nelly - Nelly Furtado
Good Morning Aztlan - Los Lobos
Wave On Wave - Pat Green

Painfully void of any Decemberists albums but Fever To Tell has a few tracks good enough.
Band of Skulls or Rival Sons could be on your list if you give them a chance.

What are your favourite Decemberists albums? Mine would probably be The Crane Wife and The Hazards Of Love.
