On this, the eve of the first Porcupine Tree release in over a decade, I'm listening to Steven Wilson...

I was never an avid Pink Floyd fan, but I do appreciate a lot of their songs. Less Waters, more Gilmour is my preference.
From David Gilmour's first solo album. He certainly has a signature sound.
IIRC, the only song from this album to be on the radio. Usually, it was played late at night or in the wee hours.

The members of the Lickerish Quartet were also members of Jellyfish, and I was excited to hear they had gotten together to form this new group from the radio during my last commute before COVID lockdown allowed me to work from home. During the crazy times of COVID, each new track they released was a bright moment, and now they have released the final EP in their trilogy. More than Beatlesque power-pop, you can hear their many influences but also appreciate as a whole their unique sound that is more than the sum of its parts.
This is one of the latest tracks.
For something very different, this was the first track they released back in the spring of 2020. Play it loud!

This could be the soundtrack to my commute or next road trip.

I'm with you on that. I have his two solo releases on vinyl, bought new at the time.
And, from 1984, a VHS tape of his solo efforts, also bought at the time. 101 minutes in length, with 30 minutes of interviews as well as concert footage of his band performing in Paris, it shows him as the guitar master he is.

Sadly, my searches for a DVD copy have been unfruitful.

Still enjoying Elles Bailey's mix of bluesy, folky rock with a slight hint of country vibe.

Were you in attendance there? How large was the crowd?
Is the summer music festival schedule back to normal in UK?

Hi Chris,

No,I was not there.I intend to go in the not too distant future.I am catching up with selected sets via BBC iPlayer. (I won’t say it’s on my “bucket list” as I hate the term!)

Attendance is said to be 120,000 with a further 70,000 staff and crew on site!

The summer music festival schedule is largely back to normal this year, there was a slightly reduced schedule last year but quite a few people(myself included) did not feel comfortable attending.

I will be going to the Latitude Festival which takes place about 35 miles from my home next month but fear it will involve coming into contact with multiple idiotsIt is a more sedate set-up with a mix of music genres, comedy literature, dance, etc

Gilmour's About Face 1984 tour was my first concert of choice. There were a few concerts my parents had taken us along to see. But, June 11, 1984, an evening with a few friends and "the guitarist from Pink Floyd"... Fantastic!
