The most annoying thing on TV

One thing that really gives me the shi ... er ... irritates me mightily is the movie guru introducer type person who has to demonstrate their knowledge of movie trivia with a seemingly never-ending stream of verbal dihorea. Maybe you don't have them in other parts of the world, but it's an Australian thing. You can't just have the "Sunday Night Mystery Movie". It's got to be "Thick Sheep Dip's Sunday Night Mystery Movie". Why won't they just let us watch the movie? That's why we're here. I wanted to watch Philadelphia Story this evening. After 20 minutes of "introduction" I gave up. I did not need to be told that the re-make was "High Society". I did not need to be told that Grace Kelley played the Katherine Hepburn part. I did not need the interminable, smug, self satisfied waffle. I just wanted to watch the film.

Aaaaagh!

Most annoying thing? Easy. Sham-Wow Vince. Katie Couric runs a close second.

I can't stand him either. People think he's for real, but they don't show you all the stuff you need to see to prove that it's real.

I really want to permanently shut that woman up.

beyond that, its the damn national weather service..... EVERY DAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR: 'insert 5 minute long list of counties here.'

yea its important, but man does it get annoying fast.

Thanks to my Slingbox, I can watch full cable television broadcasted from my home in Atlanta to my other home in Greece....the most annoying is pretty much every damn infomercial on between the hours of 3 and 7 am (early day here). What happened to truth in advertising or false advertising? Complete and utter bullshit claims. Hey, I guess infomercials and 24 hour cable news diarrhea are the bi-products of 24 hour programming.

(See the film "Idiocracy" for the foreshadowing of what the USA is becoming)

I generally find that TV is the most annoying thing about TV. It's hard not to feel like the entire television industry is just a front for turning the brains of society into pulsating goo (and doing a damn good job of it). The discovery channel and history channel used to be good but now they're dominated by "rugged" reality shows a la Deadliest Catch and Ax Men, just more of the same. I have some hope that the National Geographic Channel and Travel Channel are still good, since I don't have those channels. So I'll just go on believing that they remain untainted.

At the moment we are being overwhelmed with FUNERAL INSURANCE ADVERTS.

"What if your loved one dies tomorrow?" Every channel, every 15 mins, all day.

Sickening and morbid. Would drive anyone to avoid TV completely.

Problem is our PayTV is being overtaken by ads as well. Double dipping I would call it.
Where, Oh where is some excellent TV viewing?
