Truck driving is what I have done mostly. In China, a kindergarten teacher and part-time actor.

Food.. meh?

Soda would have to be a large cold can of 'V'. It's usually a Coopers Sparkling Ale that I drink though.

I am a draftsman by trade. I work for a large boat builder that produces custom boats for the police, military, coastguard, and a few very rich civilians. I work as technical support to the sales team by producing costing estimates and preliminary concept designs and drawings. Easiest way to describe what I do: I translate engineer speak into sales speak, and sales speak into engineer speak. And once in a while I get to run arround in a very cool boat.

Favorite foods: I don't have an all time favorite, I like trying new foods, I like suprises. I have not yet learned to like natto.

Favorite Beverage: Canadian Rye, water, micro-brews (especially pale ale), Red and White Wine.

Did you ever see the movie "Office Space" (1999)? There's a part where they ask a guy what he does all day and your description of your work reminded me of that exchange:

There's two consultants interviewing everybody at the office to determine the value of their job and whether they can be fired.

Tom Smykowsky: "Well-well look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?"

Funny movie - specially if you work in an office environment.

I am an audiologist working for an ear nose and throat practice in Atlanta ("can you hear me now? Good.").

Food: YEP! You name it. I'm from Louisiana, so Cajun and Creole are close to my heart. I love sushi, Thai and Cuban as well.

Soda -- I can take it or leave it. Micro-brews are my preference. I have brewed a few batches myself, but haven't done it in a while since being a daddy is my other full-time job.

I have been a student for a year but just finished writing my Masters so soon I will be back to being a composer, performer, theorist, designer, photographer, poet, sound artist, programmer, information architect and so on. i don't believe in being just one thing. I tried that and almost killed myself. Then I decided to live my life over.

Favourite soda: Ginger beer or cream soda (neither of which have been mentioned, oddly).

Favourite drink: A good hoppy beer, the best ever being Dragon's Breath from Kingston, Ontario.

Favourite food: I make a pretty darned good Thai green curry, certainly better than any of the restaurants here. Love sushi and other Japanese cooking. Plus Vietnamese, Indian, Thai are all great, but not always possible to get done properly. But my absolute favourite would have to be Atlantic lobster, solo, nothing fancy, just so long as they are 6 pounders or more. That means I never eat them any more, since all that get served are essentially adolescents.

Officially, I am an at-leisure retiree, having worked for 40 years in the Public Service as an office manager, I hated the environment as a workplace, but made many friends and and it put the bread on the table.
These days I put in 2 days per week working at the local Botanic Gardens. I am the coordinator of the Irrigation system, all 120 hectares of it!

Favourite food : Well I am married to an unbelievably good cook, who is always coming up with something new and exotic. Its her main love, cooking. Many have said that eating at my place is as good as any restaurant!
Seafood is hard to beat.

Drink : A good red (or white) wine, Orange juice or water. (Not a keen coffee drinker)

Aaah man good movie, I loved that movie and is the only comedy movie I ever liked. Most comedy movies now days try too hard to be funny and it just ends up being stupid, or at least the target audience for comedy movies now days are pre-high school kids.

Perhaps there is a more recent thread around but this is what I found.

At the moment I'm on paternity leave with my son ( who is 1 year old ). I've been at home with him frome September and will start working again in April. There are some perks with living in a socialistic nanny state

Anyway, I work as an environmental inspector. I investigate industries, car work shops, stone quarrels, oil spills and such. We are often called out to bigger road accidents to make sure that leaked fuels are taken care of. There is also a less inspiring part of the job of neighbours blaming each other for misplacing their trash bins, feeding deers and what not.
