I'm going to say that this will be his last contract (as a player) with an NFL team. He is on a team that will not have him throwing 40-50 times a game with a strong defense and a strong running game. It really is the ideal situation for him and I honestly think that if GB had allowed it he would have been a Viking last year instead of playing for the Jets. He can now go out on a team where he can be productive and say that he actually helped that team win. Afterwards I really do see him becoming a coach (QB coach most likely) for a team running the West Coast offense.

I wonder why it is he has adopted the image of someone who has just crawled out from under a truck or like he has just come back from being lost at sea for a month?

.

The local paper here described his current look as "the Unabomber."

He's probably spent the off-season interrupting his beer drinking with the occasional golf game or fishing trip. He missed training camp on purpose because he probably couldn't pass the early physical.

But... If this makes one Packers fan weep, it's worth it.

He has always had that look. He had that look at Southern Mississippi. He looks like a classic qb that would have a name something like Billy Joe Bob. Another qb from that neck of the woods that comes to mind is Terry Bradshaw.

That's a good "neck of the woods" as both qb's are from the South, and both won Super Bowls. Actually, I think Bradshaw won 4 of them. BTW, I finished at USM about 12 years ahead of Farve.

Yeah, Bradshaw beat my '79 Rams in the 1980 Super Bowl for the last one. I wanted to see USM join the SEC. I'm sure that would be M.S.U. and Ole Piss' worst nightmare! (a little SEC rivalry humor there)

There has been talk of USM joining for years. I seem to recall that the SEC had a rule that there could not be 3 schools from the same state in the conference. Don't know if that is true or not.....might just be an excuse. MSU & UM dropped playing Southern for a number of years because Southern used to beat them (especially MSU) quite regularly. Bama dropped Southern after we beat them 2 years in a row. Oh well, when I first enrolled in college (1961), it was called Mississippi Sourthern College, and we won the "small college" national championship at least once, and I think we won twice.
