Makes me sad. So many of the politicos, musicians, actors, etc. that I "grew up" with are passing away. The cycle of life.

I do hope Pentax Forum members will show their good taste and upbringing by refraining from posting anything negative about the deceased until at least after the funeral. He'll be dead for a long time; there's no need for haste.

Who's the head of the family now, anyway? It's a very patriarchal clan...

I don't know the makeup of the familia very well but it seems like he was the last.
Kind of sad actually. I may not have liked him but it feels like the end of era. Makes me sad since that kind of happened in my own family. Things change too fast and too much sometimes.

Maybe Arnie will take over as head of the family. (ducks)

Mr Kennedy will be an incredibly tough act to follow, this country has suffered a great loss with the passing of this man.

Rose would have disagreed.

I agree, and sometimes it's a bit hard to swallow.

In some respects, I think he was an old school politician. Back when differing opinions were accepted and did not interfere with friendship. I was listening to an interview last night with Nancy Reagan. She said that although Kennedy and President Reagan didn't often agree, they were the best of friends. I sometimes wonder if this isn't lost today. I have always had the utmost respect for both of these men because they wanted the best for America and it's citizens. Political differences aside, historic figures and the end of an era.

That is something has always been difficult for a lot of people. However, I agree that it is more of a problem at present. In fact it may be acute. Another good example is William Jefferson Clinton and George Herbert Walker Bush. They are good friends as well. Truman and Nixon on the other hand, ouch! Truman had some choice things to say about Nixon and that was long before Nixon became president.

Probably had a lot to do with Nixon's association with Eisenhower in his capacity as Vice President. Truman's dislike for Eisenhower was such that he had to be practically coerced into participating in his administration's office handover on Inauguration Day.
