I looove a good blue, but only quality imported un-pasteurised stuff (most domestic cheeses are pasteurised by law... )

Hmmm a good Roquefort, Bleu d'Auvergne, Rochebaron and a yummy Bleu Bénédictin... time to go to the cheese shop!

Pat
May I suggest you to try some Bleu de Gex? It has a little sweet taste that I particularly like.
And try to have some pear and sweet wine (Sauternes style) while eating blue cheese (I guess you already know this).

Am I weird for liking the smell of blue vein?

That, and it goes nicely with some good Jamon de Serrano and rockmelon.

my favorite blue is Stilton....with some plain crackers(biscuits) and a hearty red, preferably a Cabernet.

That's not the reason we think you're weird.

Spookey.

All of my life I have disliked blue cheese. Just the smell of it was enough to get me wretching.

That was until a few years ago when my Dad died. He was a blue cheese enthusiast. About the time he crossed the bar (Naval term) I suddenly developed a craving. It took me a while to work out what I wanted until I found myself looking at a piece of Stilton. It was gorgeous. My favourite now is a bit of Blue Vinney toasted.

As an aside my work on Marmite/Vegemite continues but I am sorry to say I have nothing significant to report at this time.

Damn that sounds good!
On the subject of cheese itself, I like some more than others, but I don't ever remember eating any type that I just didn't like at all.

Yes...it takes it's name from one of our previous prime ministers. (that comment comes from one of our local comedians that had some people believing it was true)

You simply haven't tried it crumbled on top of an oyster, preferably raw....

I eat bleu cheese the same way I eat any other cheese. By itself or on crackers. Its one of my favorites. That and the sharpest cheddar I can find.
