back to the OP...I am not sure what is worse, those who regularly engage in online porn, or the small minds who preach homophobia so flippantly.

A perfect world

6 Churches, 3 schools, 2 bars, and a store.
And the righteous folk who walk through the doors.
Who could want or need anymore?
Not the preacher or the whore

This is our little town

I think the funniest thing is that all too often the politicians, clergymen or loudmouthes who are the most vocal against subjects like porn or homosexuality are usually the ones we who get caught with underage gay prostitutes in public bathrooms months later...

Things that make you go: hmmmmm!?

Venturi ... I dunno about webbed feet, but I can tell you looking in from the outside that seeing stories like that one almost weekly in the American media does illicit a healthy "WTF?" from us.

I wonder how much kiddie porn would be found on Michael Schwartz's computer.

so we have the one study that tells us that staring at womens breasts is beneficial to your health

now we have it that said breasts will eventually get you to turn gay

ergo, being gay is healthy

It's pretty obvious that they get off on shame and condemnation. They aren't exactly known for treating the people they use for sex very well, which ought to tell you something. Who'd put up with them if their sex objects were seen as fully human?

Of course, when they get caught, no one goes back and re-examines how they've tried to turn both religion and politics into one big sexual hangup (and corresponding fetishes.) Then of course there's the big confession and repentance drama, which is only used to go ahead and redouble the frenzy against anything sexual or people who are supposed to be involved: maybe never thinking that they find anything sexual so degraded ...because they themselves do the degrading. By not respecting themselves or each other. Why they're so shocked when their preachers treat sexuality exactly as they teach 'sex is,' I dunno.

They think tacky porn has some kind of mesmeric 'forbidden' power cause that's exactly what they teach themselves it is. (Though they usually go after *art* when they want to raise a Federal case about something: maybe that's cause it *doesn't* comfortably-conform to their ideas of what the human form is. )

Oh, there's a lot of WTF down here, too, let me tellya.

Surely there's a lot more people who just find these kinds of major malfunctions amusing/outrageous than anything else.

Ridiculous!

I am no fan of porn, and hate the pop up trash that infects some sites, but that idiot is not bashing porn he is bashing gays. Now anyone that has ever known old Rupert, knows that there is no gay interest in his bones (any of them), and I have never viewed a naked photo or such and looked in the mirror as I shave and feared that I was "going gay", but I strongly suspect that the idiotic statement made by that right wing "do gooder" is a direct result of that experience in his life. I think he got his basis for his statements from his own "inner struggles", and wants to pin it on everyone that might see a naked woman from time to time.....heaven forbid! Absolutely absurd, and while I do not support the gay lifestyle, I do not bash it nor do I fear it....why should I? Why should you.....do you?..... Good Lord, where do these wingnuts come from?
Regards
Rupert

Well, I suppose there's some unspoken rationale with these guys that if no one even looks at or knows anything about sex before they're married, then no one will look at porn and discover they aren't attracted to the 'right' people.

Sure enough way to get these people who claim 'Sexuality is a choice' to turn *beet red* is to ask, 'Are you trying to choose something right now?'

Funny how they fall all over themselves to say, 'No, no, no, I'm born straight....'

I figure there's an awful lot of confused bisexuals out there: these nuts couldn't have designed their ideology to do if it better if they tried.

Curious thing about these guys is that they do seem to get their ideas about lesbians *from* porn. Must be their 'extensive research.'

Yes, the "I only watch girl on girl porn" guys and "I don't wear pink shirts" guys must have a pretty lose grip on their heterosexuality if are worried that seeing a naked man or wearing a shirt can make them gay.

I would like to agree with you Mike, but there are some pretty gay shirts out there!

Did you see the ones Garth Brooks used to wear? So gay...

No, I heard that country music turns you gay so I don't want to risk even looking at Garth Brooks.

I don't understand it.....

First, I don't understand gays, it just doesn't make any sense to me how a man could not find satisfaction in a lovely woman but could in another man? I have known many gay people, men and women, and conclude that it is just "who they are", just as I am "who I am". I don't see it as a choice, someone correct me if I am wrong, or you think I am wrong. I've never had a gay person try to push his lifestyle on me, or otherwise be offensive to me in a sexual way....maybe it happens, but it hasn't to me. Like I said, I do not support such a lifestyle, but I don't eat sushi either, nor do I bash sushi eaters.
As for the wingnuts and fruitloops that have all the answers, it is truly amazing, as has been pointed out, that they always seem to be the ones caught toe tapping in the men's room or in some sleaze motel with a crack whore. Perhaps it is how they do their research to become so knowledgeable?
I do remember that as a teen , I always sought out the preacher's daughter if possible...I knew I was in for a great time! I dated several and never once was I disappointed. Now maybe it was just luck, after all, old Rupert has always been very lucky, no denying it!
Regards
Rupert

Hee. It's actually really pretty simple if you aren't starting off by trying to prove that LBGT both don't exist, shouldn't exist, and are simultaneously a terrible threat.

Just kind of is, you know.

All these convoluted, and frankly, insane, ideas of 'what causes people to 'choose sin' ' really just confuse matters, starting from their own premises. Like so many other things, certain people are trying to be 'scientific' while simultaneously only accepting anything (and I do mean *anything*) that can be construed to support their own assumptions.

They don't make it easy, but if people can accept themselves and realize that not everyone is the same, and that this is *OK and good,* then everyone's more comfortable with themselves, no one's motivated toward ignorance, confusion, fear, and injustice on this count, and if someone decides that it honors their God to suffer over it, it's on them to do so, not try and make life hard for millions of Americans as if that'll *stop them from toe-tapping..*

Hopefully while being honest with the other people involved, too. People faking it out of fear and self-righteousness creates a *lot* of trouble, abuse and suffering.

Btw, I found an amusing site last night, here's a sample. http://godhatesprotesters.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/fred-phelps-1.jpg
