Stumbled on this by mistake - Very Interesting

I was looking up an old tax protester named Irwin Schiff in an attempt to stop paying income taxes once the country takes a full turn to socialism. I had bought his book several years ago and though the premise seems wacko, he had a lot of facts backing him up. Anyways, in my search I ran across this video and got to watching it. If you have the time, just watch it. Otherwise watch the first twenty minutes or so. It's pretty interesting and doesn't tote a political line. In light of what has happened since this video was produced, it seems like everything is going along as planned...

I watched the 1st 3 minutes, but the video quality was so bad I couldn't stand it. The DVD is only $1.

Here's a link that may prove interesting to some:

'Just in case the country takes a full turn to socialism.'

In the same vein, I'm making sure my one Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater insurance is up to date.

I don't really know what's sadder: people who don't understand what socialism is being taught to be so terrified of it taking over, or how silly what they're taught they could do about it *is.*

If someone wanted to oppress America, would they do it *that* way... through a concept people irrationally despise, or through some things people are taught to blindly and irrationally clamor for? Like religion, 'the free market,' and certain propagandists for such?

Ah, but is your insurance thru the "American Tax Payer's Ins. Co.", aka AIG?

It's along the same lines as Mr Schiff's Book which is now free at his web site:
PayNoIncomeTax.com

This video goes beyond the plight of lone men. He talks with several former IRS agents, a former IRS director, congressmen, constitutional lawyers, and historians. He also does a great deal of research too. It's funny (not really) watching IRS representatives and Judges not answer the question - "Where in writing does it say we are legally bound to pay taxes?". Over and over again - a complete run around. The only one to admit it, and quite frank at that, was Ron Paul near the end of the film. It also goes into great detail about the Federal Reserve Bank which almost seemed a little spooky. This movie was well in the works over two years ago and what is going on today with the economy works right into where it left off.

Does the video go into detail about the 1860's when the IRS was 1st established and the income tax instated by Honest Abe?

You're right! I just bought a boatload of ammo off that irrational concept called a "free market" while listening to an irrational podcast about the Book of Revelations. I know I'm not the only one stock piling ammo as the shortages continue. Would the government that people irrationally despise still allow them their Bill of Rights? I'm not willing to "blindly" find out.

You think ammo is hard to find; try finding primers!

It does go back that far along with several Supreme Court decisions that even after the 16th amendment was "ratified" trumps its authority. The film then has several court transcripts from now that has judges not allowing Supreme Court decisions in their hearings. They would cite it as irrelevant.

No, what they would do is force banks to lend money to those who could not repay it, through some such law as the Community Reinvestment Act (1977, signed by Pres. Carter).

When told by bankers, (including a former Sec'y of the Treasury), "we really can't do that," they would then change the laws so the banks COULD do that (Graham Leach-Bliley Act of 2000, signed by Pres. Clinton).

The ability to both lend and borrow the same securities thus restored, which had been prohibited since the great Depression, would then create an opportuinity to create a pool of wealth to lend to unworthy borrowers (who would vote for the very persons who created the opportunity) - BUT -

There would be no ready buyers for these "worthless" securities.

So one would need to install more friendly former government officals of the politcal party (recently denied the Presidency twice) as Directors of semi-public corporations that could obligate the citizens of the United States to guarantee these investments.

Mirabile dictu!! Fannie Mae (Jamie Gorelick), Freddie Mac, Citigroup (Sandy Weill and Bob Rubin), Wachovia (Bob Steel), AIG (Ace Greenberg), Bear Stearns (James Cayne), Lehman Brothers (Dick Fuld), Cong. Barney Frank, Sen. Chris Dodd (special CountryWide VIP mortgage), Alan Greenspan (Clinton nominee), (Larry Summers mis-fired at Harvard, but he's baaacckkk).

Any guess which party they're ALL registered in?

And the best part is, when it all blows up, they take their personal wealth and go home, blame "Wall Street," collude with the SEIU and ACORN to steal an election, take away the freedoms of all the responsible people and blame it all on capitalism!!!

THAT'S how you destroy free-market capitalism if you are a socialist. You become a capitalist and destroy it from the inside.

You guys know that the GLBA was authored primarily by Republicans, and supported by way more Reps than Dems, right? GLBA was a bi-partisan deal driven by the GOP.
