The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency feature length pilot on HBO.
A brief but wonderful HBO television series set in modern Botswana.

Im not very critical of movies... I just sit back, relax, and enjoy them

I thought it was fun movie to watch, and really enjoyed it.

Whether it meets all you critics and your checkboard requirements im not sure though

Clash of the Titans. didn't give much of an impact on me. I think the story was blah and the acting was blah. felt a lot of things were missing. I always wondered who was the daughter of that soldier who was brought to Medusa's Lair. was she Medusa's father? I thought that women are not allowed to go there? and what did IO said that the 3 witches and her were sisters and that she knows something about them and their prophecy? is it because the 4 of them are cursed? so who were the 3 witches before? and what about......now I have one crosseyed.

Last movie? 'Brideshead Revisited'. I read the book and enjoyed it, so I watched the film (2008), then on recommendation watched the TV series (British, 1980's). Interesting. TV series definitely better than the film - how could it not be, taking about 12 hours to explore a complex story, whereas the film only has about 1.5 hours to do the same. BUT - Emma Thompson as Lady Marchemain was definitely better than whatever-her-name-was in the TV. But is this story best understood by (ex)Catholics? Or better understood by people of British background. How do our US friends react to it - it is said to be one of the best books ever written, so how is it received in non-British countries?
