the only real star in this film is Jackie Chan. if not for him, this would had been a flop.

I just saw a FREAKY movie on HBO--The Lovely Bones--a story narrated by a 14-year-old girl about her murder by a child molester. A little too waxing poetic at times, didn't like the ending, but the cinematography, special effects and storyline were riveting. I never saw anything like it.

Also saw Robin Hood--which was a yawn. Same old stuff.

The last movie I watched was the Devils Rejects. Morbid but a classic

Just watched a few Abbott & Costello flicks, just for good old fashioned fun. "Buck Privates" with a classic Andrews Sisters song, "In The Tropics" with great routines and terrible tunes, "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" which is a loving homage to gothic film. Just silly stuff my wife and I enjoy.

The Experiment

Very good movie; takes your emotions everywhere, a very good "hmmm" movie.

Watchmen

.

Just caught Watchmen on HBO last night (missed it in the theatre.)

Very good flick. Based on a graphic novel series, an alternate history of the US in which (mostly mortal) superheros actually walked the earth.

The sequence where the retired 50's superhero flashes back to fighting the retro-suited super-villains of the era right before he dies is touching, poignant and superbly done.

The Laurie Jupiter character steals every scene she's in, especially one particular baking-hot scene played out to Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah

Highly, highly recommended film.

The "Men who stare at goats", the title threw me off, after seeing it, I gave it 4 stars on Net-Flix.

Slumdog Millionaire. It won 8 Oscars.

Poor East Indian boy's eventful life provides the answers to questions on the gameshow "Who want to be a millionaire?"

I'm watching "Sin City" on TV in a hotel room, one of my favourite movies.

I like the story and dialogue, such as it is. And visually it's stunning. Robert Rodriguez's style and vision was hard to beat in this movie.

Capitaine Alatriste (Spanish, with subtitles)

Movie is very good and covers the entire series of books that are written by Arturo Perez-Reverte (one of my favourite authors).

A good view/read if you like Spanish culture from the early 1600's.

Except for the fact it wasn't his style - it was Frank Miller's.

OK, it was Robert Rodriguez's vision of Frank Millers vision.
