Thanks all for your kind words.

Just thinking I wish mine was born in December. Would have gotten a full years tax deduction for less than one month of payout.

Again Congrats Ash. What a beautiful Christmas present you've gotten.

You may want to think about a third job though to pay for it all. With college and stuff.
You get tax deductions for having a child? I guess it's similar in the end over here - there are 'bonuses' for bringing children into the world...

But I am thankfully done with college - have been for 2 years now. Although I already work 3 busy jobs - day job, family job, photography & this forum. (two of them with negative cash flows )

Congratulations, Ash! He'll be a great photographer, no doubt!
I'll certainly be training him up well. If he defects to N or C, then he'll have to answer to me!

Ash, I was referring to their college educations.

Oh, hadn't even begun to think about that yet!
They've got to pass the terrible 2s, 3s, 5s and teenage years first!

Just reading up on "middle child syndrome" there are worrying aspects... anyone out there a middle child to confirm this phenomenon?

The middle or second born child or children often have the sense of not belonging. They fight to receive attention from parents and others because they feel many times they are being ignored or dubbed off as being the same as another sibling. Being in the middle a child can feel insecure. The middle child often lacks drive and looks for direction from the first born child. Sometimes a middle child feels out of place because they are not over achievers and like to go with the flow of things.

Being a middle child could mean they are loners. They really don’t like to latch on to a person in a relationship, therefore they have trouble keeping one due to lack of interest. Not liking to take the limelight for anything, they are not over achievers and just simply work enough work to get by, and typically that goes with school as well as a career. They are however very artistic and creative. If forced to use abilities they will work well, but do not work well under pressure. They often start several projects but rarely keep focused long enough to finish a project.

My wife is a middle child, with some of these traits coming through in her own life...

Ash, since you know there may be a problem you have the chance to nip it in the bud. Just let the middle one know she is still special in her own right. Include all three in everything you guys do. In theory it should work. But what do I know. I am an only child. But I grew up with my mother's daughter. (figure that one out.)

It's a slow way to grow Pentax's market share, but it sure is fun trying!

Welcome to the world, Micah!

Thanks John.
With Pentaxians having at least 3 children each, it would help to ensure Pentax grows, even if only slightly...
