Let's enhance the image...

...with the right combination of algorithms...

Thanks! Feeling enhanced now. Although... if I had an additional combination of algorithms...

Yeah, I'm sure we all get a kick out of these scenes :-)

Although as a hardcore Blade Runner fan (which clearly was the source of inspiration for a lot of those scenes), I would like to say that there's supposedly a technological backdrop to that scene; the photos were supposedly taken with future (circa 2019) cameras that could take ultra high resolution images and store all that information on a 4x6 "print". The "3-D" aspect of the photo is obviously bunk––you can't do that with any kind of future tech if all you have is one cam and one lens––but the zooming and enhancing thing is not out of the question (of course, you'd think all you need to do is zoom, without enhancing).

Think of something like this:

Gigapixel-Dresden.de - Large Size Panoramas

but take with one shot :-)

You think that's parody, as opposed to an actual representation of what goes on in certain shows, Werticus?

This one, I wish it was a parody. I really, really do.

Seriously, what's with the spoon? If you're just going to pull something out of your arse, why the crude analogy (no pun intended)?

Well the Star Trek one could work as you could say they have better image storage, and gathering capabilities.
