Still have yet to watch BSG..need to collect all of the DVDs first and have a marathon or two.

Firefly cast...Jewel Staite and Nathon Fillion...couple of great Canadians.

Lived in Lockport NY growing up was exposed to a lot of Canadia, went there all the time as it was a short 20 minute trip and watched more Canadian TV than US as I got better reception from Canada than I did from Buffalo. Who can forget the Hilarious House of Frightenstein and the Uncle Bobby show? ;-)

Best import...Labatt's Blue. :-)

D
I grew up in Buffalo and my fav was the Labatts Party Case; Twelve bottles of 50 and twelve bottles of Blue. Yeah, baby!!!!!!!!

...and Shatner is a real hoot, isn't he? The best part is that I'm not sure if he takes himself seriously or not.

Slightly dated but -

"On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the
United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well
recently and for that, I am truly sorry.

I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't
nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's a
moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all it's not
like you actually elected him.

I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees
than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and
better than your own.

I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defence I guess our
excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours.

I'm sorry we burnt down your White House during the war of 1812. I
notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice.

I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer
but, we feel your Pain.

I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up
against a crazed dictator, you want to have your friends by your side. I realize
it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler,
but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons.

And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're
constantly apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a
thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over
this.

We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with.

Thank you."

Canadian Actors, Directors and Movies
So how come so many Canadian actors now live in the States? Canada that bad a place to live? Or maybe they just are tired of paying into socialized medicine?

Traditionally, they get paid way more money to star in movies in Hollywood than they do to star in annual Anne of Green Gables marathon on CBC.
Seriously, that would be so far down the list that it would barely register a comma.

Craig Ferguson said one night that Canada is like the polite neighbor upstairs and the US is the noisy one downstairs.

How could I forget about Rush and Triumph, Kim Mitchell, Melissa, Billy Vann and the Party Game, Habs and the Leafs...all good stuff.

You are so far off track it stinks. You have to turn everything the way you want it to be. As far as I know, "socialized medicine" is cheaper than what you get in the States. And, as a whole, Canadians live longer than Americans.

But I think we shouldn't expect more from somebody who thinks G. W. Bush was a god.

Canada is cool, especially for the criminals. Up here, crime pays for the sake of human rights.
