Shotgun Negotiation?

More then always, sharpshooters are in the area in such cases but rarely do they take action for the place i live.

Just to ask for the places you live, is it due process or standard procedure to shoot the hostage taker while distracted. In this case, hostage negotiators are basically distraction specialists?

It certainly an economical way of dealing with things.
How do you say "Dirty Harry" in Chinese?

Snopes says it is: snopes.com: Japanese Hostage Negotiations

It's been circulating in one form or another for quite awhile. I must admit, I kind of like the way they handled it.

Highly effective way to deal with a criminal.

Cheers, Mike.

Main goal is to save the innocent hostage, within reason.

Apparently the kidnapper survived the gunshot and 5 story fall. His body was shipped of to be cremated but funeral workers heard a groan when they opened the coffin. The article doesn't mention what happened after that.

I don't know. I can't recall any hostage situation in my country... While criminal situation here isn't good, taking hostages isn't what criminals do.

I agree... it's not like there is much doubt as to the guilt of someone who kidnaps a child and makes demands... and there is no valid justification possible.

I'm wondering if they went ahead with the cremation.

I dunno, but I hope they did not forget to send the bill for the bullet to the family of the criminal.

When was the last time we had that kind of justice, and so quickly in America? We are so bogged down in PC and rights for the criminals that our prisons are full of murderous bastards lingering for years at our expense, while we give them appeal after appeal when what we saw here was what was needed.
Regards

It seems a bit strange that he wasn't taken out by a sniper.

They may have been concerned with the 2nd child being in the line of fire. Remember, rifle rounds would likely go through and through maybe even ricochet.
