Without reducing the significance of your loss, I on the other hand wonder from time to time if we perceive death to be overly negative, or if we cherish what we actually see and feel too much. After all, we are all to a different degree photographers. We love what we see, and always feel the need to capture that moment so that others can see later.

I am a pediatric ICU doctor, and I have watched many many children die. One thing I can tell you is that death is the most important moment in one's life; we all live for that moment. If we can honestly say at the end that it was "alright," then all is good. I hope that you friend was in peace, and one thing I know for sure is that he no longer suffering. Again I am so sorry.
