I lost a good friend today...

This morning, I was called by a friend who told me that her husband died yesterday evening, at the age of 40. We met during our study Land and Water Management, and spent many, many hours talking together, at home, in the train, in the bar.... When we ended our study, we both decided to to university, and we did many courses together. There he met his wife. When I married, they did the fotoshoot together. When he married, I was honoured he asked me as his best man.

Although we rarely saw each other the last two years, I felt coming home if so. Busy lives, his family with 3 children, it all consumed more time than we both liked. But it was always good to see each-other.

He left a wife and 3 children in the age between 6 and 12. I will miss Harold.

Just wanted to share, to honour him.

I'm sorry for your loss Rense, in a lot of ways I think it's harder to lose a friend than a family member.

You certainly have my sympathy, and for his family as well. I lost my best freiend four years ago.....suddenly and without warning. There is, and always will be an empty spot in my life, filled only by the good memories and warm thoughts of our long friendship. I hope you find the peace of what you shared with your friend as you go forward.
BestRegards
Rupert

Rense,
My prayers are with you, Harold, and his family. The important things in life are the simplest and the hardest to lose.
God Bless my friend,
Rob

Hi Rense, please accept our condolences on your loss. It is so sad to see people cut down in the prime of their life. Our thoughts are also with his wife & family.
It does make you appreciate the need to make the most out of each & every day, because you just don't know when that may be the last one.
Grant & Anne.

Rense my sympathies are with you and his wife and kids.
Had a similar situation with my cousin. She died at 39. With 3 kids. Her husband died 3 years later from a massive heart attack.

I feel very sorry for you Rense. One of the occasions reminding us to care more about the important things in life like family and friends, and not so much about the urgent things which keep us busy and busy all the time. Our time here is limited. Let's make good use of it.
Take care!
