I don't think I'm going to be able to make it. Why do they have the fair in the middle of winter, anyway?

Don't know. Usually it rains opening day. Nice day today though. Tomorrow? Rain. And more rain. And we're in our dry season.

Cool that means strawberries are in season down there , which means we'll have em here in about 6 weeks. I like strawberries. Wonder if they'd work with canollis?

I do believe they are very compatible. Last year after the fair was long gone I stopped by Parks Farms. Didn't get anything. The line was so long and I was on my way to Orlando to visit the inlaws. This year I am going to go get fresh berries.

Could it possibly be to coincide with high tourist season? (is the state fair a tourist attraction? wouldn't know never been to a fair)

Actually it was a sarcastic remark because we all know how severe Florida's "winters" are.

Of course it coincides. And it wouldn't be much fun in the August heat. Plus the biggest attraction is all the strawberry stuff. And the heart attack foods. And like you I've never been.

This winter was severe. Coldest I can remember that's for sure. Set new low temps and new low high temps

Man, I hear you - we also have had a cold wet winter over here across the gulf. The sorriest winter I've experienced since we moved to Texas in '95.

Of course it's a picnic compared the winters we spent in Michigan, but the blood thins out after prolonged "souther exposure."

Reminds me of what we used to say in Michigan: "I love Michigan summers, especially when they fall on a weekend."

Are they still holding this in West Palm?

Went many a time when I lived down there. Was always a good time.
