I use a docking system, my laptop is my one machine that I dock at work, I dock at home and I use on it's own free of the dock. This means all my work and play is on the one machine (i back up both at home and at work daily), frankly i tworks brilliantly.

I use an IPS screen at home for editing but when not editing i am able to move about freely and all my photos or frankly anything else, is with me all the time.

I use a small 14 inch laptop as portability is important. i just flat out don't understand these huge 17in laptops .... too baulky.
