Like Gooshin pointed out, self propelled artillary (tank-like tracked vehicles) are surveyed in. The new stuff is all GPS positioned, in my time in-service it was all done with surveying-like optical equipment that took a little more time and with so called survey stakes. You just didn't knock a tree down, park it and fire a few rounds. It's all very accuratly done even back in WWII. In Italy the US artillary was legendary. They would do a TOT (time on target) and have a Division's available artillary of all types from heavy mortar to 8 inch howitzers target a German 2 man OP and just blow the crap out of it. TOT means all the projectiles of all types all land at the same place at the same time unannounced of course. Very distructive to German moral.

I would add the retired fellow I worked with was a West Point grad with honors. Some of these tank drivers we're talking about are very well educated folks who can deal with SNAFU's forward and backward in their sleep and easily take on the responsibility of dealing with personnel and equipment. There's more to driving a tank than just the obvious. The absolute worst thing I can hear in a project group are the words "this can't be done" so I have a lot of respect for people who are trained to make things happen.

To answer seriously, there is a lot of heavy equipment in the world that does not have a 105MM smooth bore gun attached. There is also quite a number of tracked vehicles that use drivers and mainenance staff.

I would think a statement of being a licensed pilot would be good on any resume'

'My thinking is that once the US somehow comes up with a withdrawal plan, could be a lot of guys looking for work so if you were an employer/university dean...would you be surprised at such a resume?'

I would think it would be better than a resume' from any of the 20,000 California prisoners our state is releasing early and unsupervised into the over 10% unemployed pool now. WTF, the place is a dump already, why not? We have geniuses in Sacramento.
Golly Gee Phil...maybe you guys should have elected a Republican Governor? Those Republicans, they know how to get things done...right? And they are tough on crime too...right again? Great with budgets...they can handle any job....right once more? Sure don't want any "girly liberal" screwing up your fine State, no Siree! You just get out there and get you a Republican Gov and your problems are all over.......look what Jesus George did for America!

Unfortunatly The Governator's budget initiative didn't get by the liberal masses in the state some time back. You do recall the massive and expensive fight the state employee unions waged against it, sure you do. You do remember the last real Democrat gov Gumby Davis was tossed out on his a$$ in favor of this look-alike-but-not-quite Repub. Probably not. Well Gumby and his Lt. Gov Taxamonte would have screwed the state into the ground about 2 years quicker. So now Gumby's last minute huge raise to the state prison guard union members as a payoff partially causes the release of 20,000 unsupervised liberal prisoners back to to a 10%+ and in a few areas 18%+ unemployment markets. It will lighten the load for the poor overpaid guards. It works good for you. You think the state gov't employees would take a 5% cut in their already over paid benefit package? Not in liberal land. Fortunatly the state legislature is pretty heavy liberal so the Nobel Prize for bankrupting the state belongs to them. Enjoy your next trip to LaLa Land. Keep looking for those missing jelly beans.

What did he really do that a liberal Congress that loves to spend didn't let him do? Like with Iraq. How many voted for it before they voted against it? Financial crisis? Guess you forget what/who led us down this path too, didn't you? Guess you also forget who tried to bring a little sanity back to it and who killed that mighty quick to protect his boyfriend. Guess you also forget who's got his foot buried in the gas pedal and has cut the brake lines with a computer that won't let the tranny out of gear nor the ignition to be killed while a vehicle is moving. (No not toyoda this time.) Or who during the election swears that where we need to be is Afghanistan not Iraq. Then when his man wants troops takes 4 months to make a decision. Then only gives him 75% of whats needed to do the job.

You guys have lots of excuses...in fact, that is all you have. When your guys fail, which is whenever they take any office in America, from dog catcher to Pres.....it is someone elses fault that they bankrupt their State or their Nation....never their fault. When the biggest terrorist attack in out history occurs under their watch (and while they weren't watching) they tell us that they are the ones that have "protected America". Yeah right! Just two short years ago it was your boy Jesus George that was telling America that our economy was "on solid ground". Well....was it? If you were working in a tall building would you want the protection that Jesus George provide those that died on 911? Or if you were hit by a hurricane, would you want your Pres to be out golfing as you struggled to survive? In your case, you probably would...it is obvious that you don't even care about yourself, much less your fellow man.

So you really do believe that Jesus George was controlled by whatever Barney wanted? Good Lordy George! Jesus George was the Pres, and you are saying that he had to follow Barney? I knew Jesus George was weak between the ears, the whole world knows that, but I never realized that Barney pulled his strings. Are you sure you want to be the little Lap Doggie for such incompetence? Why don't you try a little thinking for yourself George instead of believing what your "handlers" tell you to believe? George and his perverted policies bankrupted America, and depleted your savings....if your Fat Cat handlers even let you have any savings. He is the one responsible, it happened under his watch, as did 911 and all the other bungled atrocities he brought on us like a plague. Phony wars, fake "solid economies", and a bitterly divided America with strong racist overtones....all of this came from your boy. Just suck up and admit what most everyone else already knows. Even your own puppet masters don't want any association with Jesus George, but apparently the little puppets like you haven't got the message yet?
Regards!

Ah yah, kinda like Obummer not getting his heath care fraud through the rectum of congress. Yah, a lot like that. Read up on it, it just happened.

Link up to the videos I faked for you. Visuals are always easier to understand if your dense. It was all Repubs moving the mouths of those Demoratz speaking defending Fannie Mae. It was a Repub that made Chris Dodd take favorable loans from Countrywide too.

My thinking is that once the US somehow comes up with a withdrawal plan, could be a lot of guys looking for work so if you were an employer/university dean...would you be surprised at such a resume?

just to ask, is a referral from the commanding officer useful?
So anyway, yes, a referral from a commanding officer is useful. The only issue with them is they don't typically say much other than a person showed up for work on time and didn't get into trouble. Not that those referrals aren't useful, I should say.
