I have never driven a battle tank, but last year I test drove a 3/4 ton Dodge pickup so I think I have some sense of what the suspension might be like.

I hear ya, man. I remember wallowing around with my Dad's '65 Merc - even the 390 barely had the juice to move that sucker. You also had to plan 4-to-5 minutes in advance to prepare for turning a corner.

M1A1 is about 70 tons and an M88 tank retriever I think was about 75-80 tons. Beside a D9 has no pea shooter and bright yellow......maybe with a pink tutu and cute shoes.

Tank Commander

Is it as useful on a general resume as say..being able to pilot a plane/helicopter?

My thinking is that once the US somehow comes up with a withdrawal plan, could be a lot of guys looking for work so if you were an employer/university dean...would you be surprised at such a resume?

just to ask, is a referral from the commanding officer useful?
The most successful advisor in my Region - all of 45 years old - is a retired M1A1 Abrams MBT Commander.

The other thing is that many of the people deployed actually have a job. They are guardsmen and reservists.
