"A California jury recommended Tuesday that a man who once appeared on "The Dating Game" be executed for the murders of four women and a child."

And the headline for this story of grief and tragedy?

'Bachelor No. 1' wins date with executioner

Seriously?!? WTF?!? What's wrong with these dumbasses?!? Did they think that was WITTY?

I think it's pretty good! You're not going to confuse this story with the other men who killed four women and a child.

Slightly less tastelessness in headlines. I know CNN tends to generally suck, but until now, I didn't hold them in the same esteem as the National Enquirer.

That headline was from the CNN website. I only watch TV for 2 things:

- Montreal Canadiens hockey games
- CFL games

I made an exception for the Olympics a few weeks ago, but I figure a 2-week long digression wouldn't be so bad. Other than that, I completely wasted my money on a 60" TV a few years ago. It just sits there, dark, useless, while I'm out biking and exploring and taking pictures. I don't even watch my countless DVDs anymore. I have dozens of them still in the shrinkwrap.

I get the CNN daily email. (Also BBC, Deutche Welle, Der Spiegel, Politico, ThinkProgress, Raw Story, NASA, Stratfor, Debka, and The Konformist.) That's where I saw the headline. I just thought, "Ah, those clever CNN putas!" Hey, it's almost worthy of Variety ("Stix Nix Hix Pix") or Rolling Stone ("Bonzo Dog Runs, F**ks Itself"). That's show biz, folks.
