All Paddies' Day!

Yikes! I'm behind on my drinking! (OK, actually, not going to be partying today: I seem to be fighting off a cold and suspect I'd be very sorry tomorrow if I got too merry. )

A good holiday to everyone, and be safe out there.

Erin Go Bragh!

Isn't it "Patty's"? Or are we celebrating rice paddies?

"Paddy" is the Irish nickname for Patrick.

Yeah, ..whatever Graphics may have said, ...that's one of those words that it's OK when someone Irish says it, especially with a tone of ironical merriment.

Actually, he just asked a pertinent question in a polite and respectful manner.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm about to head out and see the gf, whom happens to be Irish.

I wonder if i should wear some green, or get the pinching of my life

'Paddy' comes from the Irish spelling/pronunciation 'Padraig.'

And, well, Graphics is on ignore precisely because cause 'polite and respectful' hasn't exactly been a very common M.O. for him.

And, by all means, you should wear the Green. This is a day when the Irish invite everyone to be 'Irish for a day.'

I think you should make her dinner and take her to the most prestigious club in town , wearing a Beanie O'Greeny hat like this!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

Heehee. We have a frontrunner for most-truly-alarming festive paraphernalia.

I didn't wear green to work because I figure I have a sufficient quantity of Irish ancestory to make it unecessary. My genetic make-up is adequately green.

Well no actually. My kids made a big deal about it so I didn't forget. It was a mixture of deliberately not wearing green and not really having anything suitable for work that's green. I don't think my green and black striped Carling football (soccer) jersey would be appropriate for a professional setting ya know?
