I might take off early from work today. Slow here and I don't think they'd miss me.

I got some new gear to carry my photography stuff that makes me look like a total dork but makes biking insanely easy. I'll try and take pictures of myself so I can show everyone what a complete dork I look like. All the women were giving me weird looks on the trail today. Good thing I'm already married, otherwise I'd have a real hard time getting a date.
And here it is:

I work nights, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and had great difficulty adjusting to sleeping during the day.
I found an electronic sound conditioner ("white noise" generator) to be just what I needed.

My wife likes it too, and uses it every night.
She too suffers occasional bouts of insomnia but none in the two years we've had it.

There are several brands. I bought a Marsona DS-600A, around $90.00.
It has proven to be money very well-spent...

I got CDs of very quiet 'environmental' music -- slow sweeps of synths over sounds of flowing water, wind in trees, etc -- also CDs of Gregorian chants by apparently opiated monks. Set them for random play, and I just drift right off...
