I registered (although I have neither brand at this point), but I also posted a link on my facebook. Not that I'm wildly popular but there might be a few interested parties that will see it. Plus I'm always up for learning more about photography and all its aspects regardless of the tools used.

Hi Mel, when'd you get the Leica? Glad to see I'm not the only Leica screwmount owner on here. Wonderful cameras aren't they?

I begged it off my dad about a year ago. He got it ages ago. It's a circa 1952 model. I'm trying to work my way through the shutter speeds to test it out (1/1000 and 1/500 don't seem to work properly) but haven't been real dedicated about it. It's pretty darn tedious to shoot. But I have the original selenium lightmeter and it's been kept in its leather case this whole time and STILL works.

Yeah, shooting the screwmount bodies requires a little investing in time with the dual windows and all... if you want yours to be like new again send it off to Youxin Ye (PM me if you want his contact info) and he'll do a full CLA for something like $90. I sent my cameras to him and they came back absolutely perfect.

You'll need to create a new one; you can pick the same username if you wish.
