The value of user forums
I am quite new to this forum, but I have already got a lot of valuable advice from other members. I discovered a few years ago the immense value of user forums when I had a problem with my veteran car. I was really planning to send it to the scrapyard when I in desperation tried to search the web for a solution. Within minutes I had found a web-forum for exactly the old make and version of my car. AFter a week or so I had many new friends who came with valuable advice how to solve my problem. And I did solve my problem and I still have my car.

Then my old radio broke. I looked for a user forum and found one and could repair my radio.

The same with my Pentax cameras. Thanks to this forum I could fix a problem with my ME.

Today I cannot live without User Forums.

the K-x Red n Body n 17-70mm giveaway contest
well, quite new to the forum (only been here a month or so) and not so many posts so i'm not sure if i do qualify for this great contest anyway?

i agree this contest will encourage many "pointless" posts as some have already stated but i also realized the forum's admins are going to take care of such posts anyway, which is quite a good approach indeed.

i'm in for the contest anyway and if i do win, i'd really like to go for the lens as i already do own a cool White K-x body with White kit lens. (that does not mean i don't care for an extra K-x body though, especially the black one, or a Navy one most of all!)

anyway, good luck for all !
