In addition for the competition for two K-x kits and a 17-70mm lens, we will also be rewarding the member who makes the 1,000,000th actual post with something special, and the member who makes the millionth post by post ID will also get something

Thus, we encourage everyone to be online around the million post mark (in a week or so) to try your luck! Note that we consider the millionth post to be the one that pushes the homepage post count to an even 1,000,000, and thus the ID of that post will be adjusted by the total number of deleted posts on the forum.

At this moment, the Post ID of the main winning post would be 1013107, which would be accessible at showpost.php?p=1013107.
The other would be accessible at showpost.php?p=1000000, and that will be happening within the next few days

First winner: poster of post ID number #1000000!

Now that's more like what I was thinking this giveaway would be. Encouragement for everyone to be online and contributing, as opposed to just invigorating a few of the resident motormouths (motorfingers?).

Oh I like this one too! Especially since you have to do a lot of extra work to figure out when it's actually going to hit the post ID of a million.

I added a few things up to see about when this would happen, and it looks like when the forum says that there are 987,116 posts, that it will reach the millionth post URL.

This post's ID is 995278, and the homepage says 982444, so it looks like you've very close. The disparity is always changing slightly, but shouldn't be more than 50 or 100 off of what you posted. Good look to the participants!

I don't think I'm hitting 10,000 anytime soon. I've kicked it up the past few days. I was averaging 11 posts per day. I'm now up to 11.08 per day.
