You're right-on with this point. This outcome sort of disappointing, IMO. Future competitions will almost certainly be submission (photo, article, review) based.

Well personally I have been totally swamped with school related things since the contest ended, so I haven't had much time to post here. I've had to do some midterms, essays, and registration for next year, so sorry if I can't keep up the same amount of posting that I had during the contest.

Can I just point something out that may or may not placate some people with noise vs. signal concerns?

This contest did, regrettably, produce a fair amount of spam (ie posting for the sake of quantity). Perhaps this new reputation thing may go some way towards putting the stress back towards quality, especially if things such as the current titles (based on quantity of posts) lessen in significance compared to reputation (based on quality of posts). Baby steps, and perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but it strikes me that hopefully people will see it as a move in the right direction...

Wow! Am so happy all those hours paid off.

I would like to thank all the people who sent me notes of support throughout. I should also thank my wife, who put up with me being on the computer even more than usual. But hey, she wants to make a documentary and will now have a camera with video that uses all my nice lenses.

Congrats to the other winners including the two million post picks.

Finally, thanks to Adam and Pentax themselves, without whom we would not have had this (pick one):

Thanks, I really am looking forward in trying out a SDM lens. I too would like to thank Adam for coming up with this contest, it sure was a challenge.
