Sarah Palin's Speaking Contract Revealed...

When I read this, Sarah Palin Speaking Contract: 'Rider' Demands First-Class Travel, Pre-Screened Questions, Bendable Straws,
I was surprised at some of the details, considering it is just a talk at a public university.

Pre-screened questions
For Q&A, the questions are to be collected from the audience in advance, pre-screened and a designated representative (by Customer and approved by Speaker via WSB) shall ask questions directly of the speaker to avoid delay time with a roving microphone in the audience."

and bendable straws? Huh?

Talk about a slow train wreck. C'mon America, you all deserve better than Sarah Palin.

To be fair, such "riders" are common with virtually all performances, and they get a lot more outrageous than this. That said, for someone purporting to be a "reg'lar American"...

As far as Palin goes I don't care one way or the other...don't have a dog in this race...but all speakers and performers have requirements....nothing unusual in that...in fact from what I've read in the link, her demands seem not very demanding.

right there no M&M with all the brown ones removed type stuff... but you'd get more mileage by going cross country in a bus if you are campaigning for the "common man". Does seem a bit hypocritical, or at the least unwise.....
Like I said.........
The logical follow-up to this morning’s media gawking over her earnings last year. Anything about her that appears to contradict her “one of us” blue-collar authenticity will be catnip to the press as supposed evidence of the worst crime imaginable. Worse than murder, worse even than plagiarism: Hypocrisy.

It's all about the money....and she is cashing in on the oignorance of her rabid followers, giving them a false hope for success in whatever it is they think they want, but in reality robbing them of any chance to influence real business of running America. Sarah will fade into a giant Black Hole, burned out and sucking in all those that follow her. Her Starpower has already burned out with all of those with an IQ over 70.

Now, now, let's not be too hard on poor Sarah, she's living the current American dream after all: first get a nice union job for the benefits, then become a government employee for the benefits, and parlay fame and looks into a celebrity career.

Of course this is wrong for everyone else, as their politics are wrong, but can't we forgive her that wee inconsistency?

I am not fan of Sarah Palin, although I do believe she would make a better president than 0Bama however I must say that her wanting to fly first class and asking for a water bottle at the podium is a TRUE scandal.

I mean, who does this lady think she is?

She should be flying a private jet like Al Gorlioni or tax funded military planes like Bela Lugosi.... err Pelosi and her family and drinking Scotch like Hillary Clinton!

Yes, she's only corrupt and abusive of power only for "family reasons" u-betcha...
A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so.
The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public late this afternoon by a bipartisan 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation.
Branchflower's report contains four findings. The first concludes that Palin violated the state's executive branch ethics act, which says that "each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."
Branchflower was investigating Palin's involvement in an effort to get state trooper Mike Wooten fired. Wooten was involved in a nasty divorce from Palin's sister.

But maybe we should ask her........
OH wait, she's not guilty.........
Palin cleared in second 'troopergate' probe - 2008 Presidential Campaign Blog - Political Intelligence - Boston.com
but..................
The McCain-Palin campaign apparently was betting that the personnel board, two of whose members were appointed by former Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski, another Republican, would clear Palin of wrongdoing.

But Alaska Rep. Les Gara, a Democrat, said Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, faces an uphill fight in her hope to be exonerated by the state personnel board investigation that she requested in hopes of heading off a legislative inquiry.

“I think in the end the McCain campaign brought Gov. Palin a little more trouble than she bargained for by convincing her to have the personnel board investigate this,” Gara said in an interview with The Public Record. “Probably in retrospect, wasn’t a smart move.”

Petumenos deposed Palin and her husband, Todd Palin, two weeks ago in a St. Louis Hotel.

Petumenos’s investigation is said to include at least two other ethics complaints filed against Palin, one of which is believed to be a complaint filed by The Public Employees Safety Union alleging Palin and her aides illegally accessed her ex brother-in-law’s personnel files and improperly and illegally tried to get him fired from his job as a state trooper. Watchdog Andree McLeod filed the only other publicly known ethics complaint against Palin. McLeod alleges the governor secured a state job for one of her fundraisers...............

errr........... let's just flip a coin..... Probably as conclusive.
It is not known how long Petumenos’ investigation will last. State laws also allow a report never to be made public, although few expect this to happen.
I found this "amusing"
If you're looking for socialism in government, don't look at the policies of President Obama, says Frank Llewellyn, national director of the Democratic Socialists of America. Llewellyn told CNN.com in a tax-day interview that the place to find socialism in the United States is Alaska, and some of it comes courtesy of Sarah Palin.
Llewellyn ... says he was struck by one player in the 2008 presidential elections who displayed more socialistic leanings than Obama. This candidate raised taxes on the big oil companies, and sent the revenue to the people. ... "The most socialist candidate in the 2008 election was Sarah Palin."

Back to ethics

Funny thing this:
http://www.adn.com/2010/04/05/1213194/ethics-panel-bill-fails-house.html
The Alaska House has defeated a bill that would have limited the governor's selection of members for an ethics panel responsible for arbitrating executive branch ethics complaints.
The bill would have made the Alaska Supreme Court's chief justice responsible for nominating appointees to the Alaska Personnel Board. The bill was defeated 19-18 Monday but it could get a second, reconsideration, vote today. Currently, the governor appoints board members. The Legislature must confirm the appointments. There's no nomination process.
This method came into question under former Gov. Sarah Palin. The Alaska House has defeated a bill that would have limited the governor's selection of members for an ethics panel responsible for arbitrating executive branch ethics complaints.

Ignoring subpoenas.. you try that once......
JUNEAU -- The Alaska Senate voted Friday to find Gov. Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, and nine Palin aides in contempt for failing to show up when ordered by subpoena to testify in the Legislature's "Troopergate" investigation of the governor.
But the Senate resolution also said there should be no punishment because Todd Palin and the others did eventually submit written statements to the investigator, Steve Branchflower.
The resolution passed on a vote of 16 to 1 -- with six Republicans and 10 Democrats voting for it.
"I thought it was important to resolve it. People kept saying 'you need to do something about the subpoenas -- what are you going to do about the subpoenas?" said Anchorage Democratic Sen. Hollis French, who sponsored the resolution. "And while there was practically no support for doing anything further about the findings regarding the governor, a lot of people were upset that the subpoenas were ignored."
"It memorializes their contempt and it balances that wrongdoing against their compliance once the suit was resolved," French said in an interview after the vote.

http://www.adn.com/2008/11/05/580244/our-view-palin-returns.html
Which Sarah Palin is coming back to finish her term as governor of Alaska?
The pragmatic centrist who built effective coalitions with Democrats and reform-minded Republicans and declined to legislate her socially conservative values?
Or the highly partisan Sarah Palin who tried to tar her political opponent with terms like "socialist" and "terrorist," while touting her stands on divisive issues like abortion and same-sex marriage?
The latter version of Sarah Palin is what made a huge hit with conservative crowds on the national campaign trail.
The former approach is what made her such a wildly popular governor here in Alaska.
Her obligations as governor point her in one direction. Her national ambitions point her in another.

Guess we know where that went u-betcha.......
Last one....... full disclosure
http://www.adn.com/2008/11/04/577718/personnel-board-exonerates-palin.html
One was a phone call Monegan says Palin made to him in January 2007 in which she complained that Wooten, who went through a nasty divorce from Palin's sister, had only received "a slap on the wrist" from his superiors. The other was a conversation he described having the next month with the governor while they were on their way to wish happy birthday to a state senator. Monegan said Palin brought up Wooten once again.
"Both of those conversations are denied, in their entirety, by the governor," Petumenos said.
Reached Monday afternoon, Monegan said he hadn't yet had a chance to read the new report but was disappointed it contradicted the earlier investigation.
He said the governor is wrong when she claims they never spoke about Wooten.
"It happened," Monegan said.
Both Monegan and Palin made their statements under oath.

One of them are lying.......
http://www.adn.com/2008/11/07/581487/our-view-taking-palins-side.html
And it is definitely not OK for a governor's staff to spend a great deal of their publicly paid time settling a personal score for the governor's family. Petumenos uses some creative legal hairsplitting to argue that state ethics law does not cover that kind of behavior, when the plain language easily supports the opposite conclusion.
Petumenos' report is so obviously tilted in favor of Gov. Palin that it fails to put the Troopergate matter to rest. The Legislature would do Alaskans a service by holding a forum where both investigators argue against each other, so Alaskans can make up their own minds.

Just to let you know the symbol is simply used by the communist party world wide it is not specifically just used by the U.S.S.R

"The hammer and sickle (☭) is a part of communist symbolism and its usage indicates an association with Communism[citation needed], a Communist party, or a Communist state. It features a hammer and a sickle overlapping each other. The two tools are symbols of the industrial proletariat and the peasantry; placing them together symbolises the unity between industrial and agricultural workers. This emblem was conceived during the Bolshevik Revolution.

It is best known from having been incorporated into the red flag of the Soviet Union, along with the Red Star. It has also been used in other flags and emblems. The symbol is currently outlawed in several countries as a symbol of communism and Soviet occupations"

I agree with Gokenin, the Hammer and Sickle is a communist symbol. And if you live in America, you should be against it too. My family has suffered greatly in the hands of communists, and I don't think we could ever forgive them for their atrocities. For those that want to give communism/socialism/fascism a try, I suggest living in China, Russia, Vietnam, Venezuala, or any of these lovely countries. Lets see how long you last after typing 1 blog about how you hate the government. That is if you have the money to have a computer or food for that matter.

In regards to Sarah Palin, its amazing to me how many people have their undies in a wad about a girl they deem "ignorant" and believe would fail as a political leader. Why can't you just ignore her? I'm not sure if she has a future career in politics, but I also don't have anything against her. In terms of Politicians, I think they are all dirty and corrupt to some degree. Even so, I don't think she's 1% as dirty as some others that I can name.

Specific communists/implementations of communism != communism, which isn't even really at issue in the USA today, anyway.
