KEH had a 1 day delivery time for the FAJ 18-35! Wow. It's amazingly light and the glass is pristine despite it being marked "Bargain".

You cannot trust their ratings at all. I also bought an ugly lens and got one from them that I would have classified as near mint.

I had heard that and took a chance. It has oxidation on the zoom ring but otherwise looks pristine. I'm glad I took the chance.

I once bought army boots from an ebay army surplus store. The boots were marked "used". When I got them I thought they were completely new with no wear on the soles at all. I emailed the seller thanking them and asking if they sent me the right pair. Their response was : "are you complaining? "

Although I've not purchased from them for a long time, I have ordered items from KEH going back perhaps into the 1980's(?). I've always been 100% satisfied, and the equipment has always been in better condition than I expected.

I haven't bought from KEH in years; their website is not as "friendly" as it once was.

In the past I had very good luck with their "BARGAIN" graded lenses.
Most of the "UGLY" lenses I see listed there now have scratches on the front element.

It's good practice to downgrade items if you're selling second hand - less chance of some awkward bastard complaining...

Today got a fairly good haul

A nice clean Vivitar Series 1 100-500mm f5.6-8 for Nikon AI-s with caps and a skylight filter for £15
A Kershaw Penguin folding camera for £5
and a HORRIBLE damaged Pentax P50 body with a very nice 50/1.7 for £5

I just grabbed myself a sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens on ebay as a treat to myself

While I may not be expecting miracles... I do think it will be fun to play with! Time for some doughnut bokeh!

A Cullman tripod strap which I hope to be more comfortable than my current flimsy tripod case for carrying it around.

Good luck to her. That tends to be quite an easy recovery compared with other joint replacements. I suspect it will be a relief to have it done.
